The Auto Claims Service Adjuster will analyze mechanical breakdown claims related to automobiles.

Responsibilities:

Maintaining positive internal customer relationships by exhibiting a courteous demeanor in all communication
Receiving incoming calls from Repair Facilities as needed, obtain and confirm all facts required to validate mechanical failures, determine coverage and provide authorizations
Initiate inspections as needed
Maintain claim pending lists on a daily basis to insure all claims are completed within time guidelines
Accurately document claim files with notes, evaluations and the decision making processes per departmental procedures

Qualifications:

Automotive technology degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 3 years experience in the automotive repair field
Microsoft Office experience preferred
Strong verbal, written, telephone communication skills
Strong computer skills and the ability to multi-task between various claims systems/tools
Strong negotiation and decision making skills
ASE certifications preferred
Spanish bi-lingual preferred

George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate is seeking a self-motivated, energetic individual to perform maintenance and repair of all Estate vehicles and equipment. Full-time position will include some weekend and holiday work, is classified as essential and requires participation in all emergencies, ice and snow removal and special events. The ideal candidate will provide great customer service as well as work independently. Employment will be contingent upon successful drug test and background investigation. Responsibilities:

Maintenance and repair of all automobiles, trucks, tractors, loaders, lawn maintenance equipment, farm equipment and spraying equipment
Repairs of miscellaneous items such as tires, brakes, carburetors, water pumps, exhaust systems, spark plugs, light bulbs and lawn mower blades
Performance of procedures such as engine tune up, compression tests, electrical components and wiring tests, engine overhaul, engine oil changes and cooling system tests
Conducts all work in accordance with established procedures and guidelines; Operates, maintains and secures Estate tools and equipment
Compiles daily record of all completed work orders and assigns budget codes to invoices; Responsible for performance, quantity and quality of all work assigned
Practices and maintains safety regulations and procedures both in/outside the shop and performs all duties in a safe manner
Coordination of vehicle/equipment work performed off the estate
Assist with maintenance of fuel and parts inventory; Uses solvents, lubricants, adhesives and other hazardous materials
Assist in requirements for special events such as parking cars, directing visitors and traffic
Performs related duties or special assignments as requested by supervisor; carries out or directs the completion of special assignments

Qualifications:

Minimum of two years combined experience in automobile mechanic and equipment maintenance trades
Knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
Must be willing to participate in an industry recognized apprenticeship program for the automotive trade
Ability to read and understand automotive maintenance manuals and electrical schematic drawings
Exhibits manual dexterity and good judgment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
